“If we adopt the Clean Eating practices of Navratra for our lifetime, we can get rid of all health issues"___ Lavleen Kaur, the founder of Diet Insight
All successes and happiness are closely linked to food and we humans find solace in easing out the cravings of our taste buds , no matter what. Our association with food is very natural as it can be traced back to the hunters and gatherers community of nomads . The story of the intense connection with food starts from African Hominins, some 2 million years ago that has taken the modern shape of the contemporary Homo Sapiens, discovering varied means to produce all that relaxes their burning apetite . Well we can see a variety of products, processed and packaged in attractive ways . Humans get attracted towards all that gleams and glitters , perhaps they find beauty in the glossy exteriors . In a nutshell, Lavleen has laid her emphasis upon eating behavior of humans and the depth of Food Science. Filling your stomach with just anything, anytime is going to lead you to harmful diseases. We all know this but we have rarely peeked into the pool of facts and fads. “ Your body is extremely intelligent. Listen to it as it is the best guide to your eating schedule” __ Lavleen Kaur
Our research team works day in and day out to gather useful information about women who have brought a considerable change in the society. Lavleen topped the list of dieticians in the country as contrary to others in the same field, her focus is not upon trends but upon nature . Connecting food to nature and furthermore to one's spiritual well being has been the tea time topic of discussion for millions but bringing it to one's platter in the real sense of the word isn’t at all easy . Specially, if we talk of the generation z or the wide population of millennials, things become more difficult to be explained.
Here’s an excerpt from the interview
Q. There’s a poem composed by you, which is getting viral on social media and it is related to a human heart .
Correct . On world Heart Day, I had composed this poem, which is in the form of a dialogue, wherein the heart speaks to the humans , asking them to walk for an hour as the heart walks 24×7 to keep them alive.
Q. We have heard a lot about intermittent fasting . Is it healthy ?
I believe that there is no such trend which is perfect for everyone. Every individual is different, they have different metabolic rates and body clocks . Instead of fitting into these terms and concepts, it is better to listen to your body. Ideally a perfect lifestyle suggests an eating window of 12 hours . It is an age old practice to close your eating window before sunset . This gives way to the practice of staying aligned with nature . Don’t sleep after sunrise, wake up early., go to bed early. Some people believe that intermittent fasting means starving yourself for 15 to 16 hours. I educate people that it all depends upon the metabolism. Some people feel hungry after frequent intervals and some can stay for hours without food. Listen to the signals your body sends for requirements.
Q. Are PCOD and other lifestyle diseases reversible ?
Absolutely. I have a number of such clients, whom I have treated by dealing with their Diet which is sustainable and now they are completely free from diseases like PCOD or Hyperthyroidism. We humans are meant to consume only that nature has given to us. If we stick to this eating habit then all health issues can be resolved. Hormonal imbalances give way to these, diseases and they are outcomes of improper lifestyle, like sticking to gadgets for longer hours . The blue light confuses us and our body is unable to distinguish days and nights.
Q. Eating jaggery or coconut sugar is healthy according to some studies . What is your take?
I think that nothing can be taken for granted. Having jaggery, honey or coconut sugar is ofcourse better than consuming white sugar but surely there is a limit to these variations too .
Q. What is an ideal Navratra platter ?
See, you have to take fruits, fresh vegetables juices, milk, curd, coconut water and low sodium intake. Stay away from sweets and follow the same routine everyday, why only during festivals .
Q. What are the 5 Do Nots for our eating habits ?
To be really close to what is sustainable, I suggest 5 strict Do Nots
1. Do not go for packed and processed food .
2 Do not follow trends, listen to your body
3 Do not use gadgets and devices after a certain fixed time.
4. Do not go for products that aren't easily available as it isn’t sustainable to follow such practices
For the 5th Do Not do listen to the Podcast.
