“ I had a deep inclination to return to my soil and to do something for its people "___ Himani Mishra, CEO & Co Founder, Brand Radiator
This week, our guest over Koffee Konversations is a rare and limited version, as she is unique in her noble thoughts and actions . The reason for selecting her, as our guest, is basically the fact that, we came across her interview on a popular television channel, wherein she mentioned that she did not start her venture with the chief mission of gaining recognition for herself , rather it was for her state, her soil and the intense urge to convert her natives into IT enabled communities . Her achievements have been talked of many a times and she has been featured in national newsdiaries and television channels. We spoke to her for her valuable time and , like an enthusiastic participant of a classroom puzzle game, she came up with a soothing solution, “my meetings are though unpredictable, yet I would love to be there for the interview, " she responded .
Here's an excerpt from the interview
Q, Hi Himani, could you please, introduce yourself to our listeners?
Himani : Sure. I hail from Patna . I completed my school education from Krishna Niketan and Patna Central school. I and my two sisters have been the pride of our parents, despite the bitter fact that the society tortures such couples mentally, by imposing their stereotypic thoughts, that having a male child is a billionaires boon. My father wanted me to be a doctor, hence I took both Mathematics and Biology in my plus two . I cracked dental but that did not bring adequate pride to my father . He said that I better cleared medical or else I would be married. Laughs….well ..this isn't unusual as in those days, mostly it was like girls going into medicine and boys into engineering. I had an intense admiration for numbers . I cracked IIIT and got admission in IIIT Calcutta. This is how I started with my career in engineering
Q. What drove you to entrepreneurship ?
Himani ; Well.you might have heard that people leave their jobs due to monotony and then they switch to entrepreneurship but this wasn't the case with me at all . I loved my work at Wipro, Tata and Telenor. I have been in leadership roles . Having worked in the corporate houses for more than 10 years, in Bengaluru and Kolkata, I then thought of going to my state . It was in 2018, when the digital India wave had gained its peak and the entry of Jio brought a u turn to the story of communication technology. There was a huge spike in data usage and a sleek cut in customer expenditure on telecom. I thought of extending the digital domain to tier 2 and tier 3 cities . I belong to a generation which thrived on Trunk Call…laughs…err..so…I have felt that nowadays, everyone has a smartphone , yet very few know about all the functions and tools these phones have . Packed with a keen intent to make my soil enriched with the flavors of technology I went on to create a digital marketing base , titled Brand radiator. It has four verticals , one is IT, the second , Digital marketing, the third is Public Relations and the fourth is Brand Building, operating in Kolkata, Bengaluru, Patna and now in Ranchi . Expansions weren't possible without my team , which has worked day in and day out.
Q. How do you cope with changing trends in technology?
Himani ; See , it is a vastly dynamic stage, where every second day things are getting obsolete, so we keep updating our systems and specially the human element. Training programmes are continuous and regular features . Our staff men are fully equipped with latest technology. We build trust and this is our biggest strength . We create lifetime employees and customers. Now we are a team of 40 people .
Q. So, you focus a lot on Human Resource Development , right ?
Himani : Absolutely, we at, Brandradiator, follow brainstorming as a tool for decision making and problem solving, most oftenly . We have very low empmoyee break away as those who come to us, stay with us . It is a family. There are some who have left their jobs in metro cities and have come back to their soil to join us.
“STOP THE BRAIN DRAIN , BIHAR IS A GATEWAY OF KNOWLEDGE AND POOL OF TALENT "___ HIMANI MISHRA
Q. Latest studies have evolved some facts that the pandemic has made many Brand shifts by customers as they stay glued to internet and are over bombarded by information.
Himani ; Yeah , very true but we make sure that we cater to these changing demands and by bringing down the communication gaps, we are able to fulfill their requirements. We keep them fully content.
Q. What message would you like to give to others ?
Himani ; Do not be in a hurry. When you start with a business, be clear about your plans and once done make sure that you have to role play everything. There is no alternative to hardwork .
I would specially like to convey my message to the women that Women are the most wonderful creations of God and we can look after our families, we can excell in workplace , all that is required is a perfect balance as you can not escape either of your roles . A woman must learn the art of balancing house and work .
Q What does Bihar stand for you?
Himani ; A gateway of knowledge and pool of talents .
